Google Desktop Search

刚刚Google推出本地搜索工具,真是爽了,我每天要处理N多文件查询的工作终于可以轻松了,Hooray!

安装完成使用了下,一个基于浏览器的便捷工具,搜索topku,居然搜到478个结果,除了本地文件外,凡是包含topku字眼的我曾经打开过的叶面都可以被搜索到,即可以搜索IE的Cache和历史记录.

All - 0 emails - 433 files - 0 chats - 45 web history
除了Outlook中的电子邮件, Office软件的三种格式, AIM的聊天记录,网页浏览历史记录,文本文件外,目前暂时无法搜索到其他格式的东东,我希望是能够结合Gmail Notifier搜索我的GMail中的邮件,搜索FireFox的缓存,搜索Mp3/Wma等视频音频资料,搜索图片文件格式乃至MSNM/YM/ICQ/QQ的聊天记录!

注意搜索主页的最底下中间的Status按钮,等于一个搜索数据的历史整理页面,上面罗列了不断更新的索引文档和最新搜索时间,索引被不断建立,从显示上看来自Web history的记录最多,那么有时当我们需要单单搜索本地电脑上的文件而非历史记录时,是否有类似Google搜索的小技巧去屏蔽一些不想搜索到的文件格式呢?经验证,google web搜索可以指定文件类型的技巧也可以同样应用在本地上,如下:

?Excel: filetype:excel or filetype:xls
?PowerPoint: filetype:powerpoint or filetype:ppt
?Text: filetype:text or filetype:txt
?Email: filetype:email
?Chat: filetype:chat
?Web History/HTML Files: filetype:web or filetype:html
?Images: filetype:jpg or filetype:gif
?Acrobat: filetype:pdf
?Windows Media: filetype:wma or filetype:wmv
?MP3: filetype:mp3

Update:AOL正在测试可以搜索本地文件的搜索引擎站点,即将推出新的搜索门户,该工具将基于AOL正在开发的浏览器;没有迹象显示它的开发与Google有关.

If you are using MSN plus! w/ MSN messenger, your chat logs would be saved as txt files thus can be perfectly scaned by Desktop Search.

C 盘以外的也可以搜啊，过一段时间再试试就知道了：）趁机器空闲建索引要一段时间的

我好像根据文件名搜到了音频视频文件啊如果可以根据多媒体文件的标签信息搜索就好了

用系统自带的搜索工具搜索完我的硬盘都要一节课的时间，而且硬盘转的叮叮响，真不知道用GOOG搜会怎样？

刚下载了一个，试了一下，可以搜到mail与历史记录，没找到文章，不知是否是设置问题，继续摸索中。。。

可惜不支持搜索所有格式，比如图纸类型不包括CAD的格式。
